Maps of Grise

French vehicle papers

The car papers in France are called colloquially carte grise (gray card) (officially: certificat d'immatriculation).

A retention of title (credit protection, attachment) is declared by means of a notification to the authorization office in the prefecture. When a vehicle is changed over to a new owner, the new owner has to prove the absence of a reservation of ownership at the time of registration. This proof can be obtained and printed out over the Internet. Tax horsesQuelltext bearbeiten

The card also contains the code of the CV (see Cheval fiscal). Single-level Edit source text
