In the 1930s, Helmut Kandziora, from the Saxonian Bräunsdorf, now a district of Limbach-Oberfrohna, began the soccer match in the junior team of VfB Oberfrohna (now TV Oberfrohna 1862). After the Second World War he joined the high-class club SG Limbach / Sa. (now FSV Limbach-Oberfrohna), who played in the Chemnitzer Bezirksliga. They quickly became aware of the technically talented midfielder. Several times he was called into the then Chemnitzer selection team.

Helmut Kandziora played for the Saxon club in the cup of the 1st national championship against ZSG Industrie Leipzig on 2 August 1949 in front of 4,000 spectators on the sports field "Am Schweizerhaus". The game won Leipzig with 0: 4. With the start of the season 1949/50 Helmut Kandziora changed to the GDR-Oberligamannschaft BSG "Märkische Volksstimme" Babelsberg (later renamed Babelsberg) together with Hans Wolfrum, who also played for Limbach. The Babelsberger increased enormously during this time. Among other things, with Johannes Schöne and Karl-Heinz Wohlfahrt, both of whom were appointed to the GDR national team. For the rotation, Kandziora completed 48 games. After the 1952/53 season he had to end his performance career as a GDR-Oberliga footballer because of injuries.
