The cow of the Vosges (Vosgienne in French) is a vaccinous breed native to the Vosges mountain range, France. It is a cow of mixed production, because it is used for its meat and milk, the latter of great quality. Origin
It is a breed native to the Cordillera de Vosgos in France. Its origins go back to the seventeenth century, when it was used by soldiers of the Duchy of Lorraine during the Thirty Years War to supply them and the local population.
It is also present in regions of Scandinavia where it has adapted surprisingly well due to the similarity of climate and temperature with the Vosges.
In 2004, 864 cows and 70 bulls were registered. Qualifications
