Cartography, or deltiology, refers to the study and collecting of postcards.

In Spain, from 1901, different magazines were published for postcard collectors. For example, "Cartófila Spain", illustrated monthly magazine, published in Barcelona; as well as the "Postcard Postcard Bulletin".

While philately (stamp collecting) refers exclusively to official issuances of the States, in cartofilia collects postcards produced by private industry, free form. For this reason, postcard collectors can find many unpublished pieces. Photographic postcard. Studio portrait.
