Peter Holten
Peter Holten was the governor of the Faroe Islands from 1861 to 1871.
Peter Holten was the son of Anne Sophie Nicoline, born Kramer and Mathias von Holten from Copenhagen. He was married to Marie Christiane, born Thornam.
After completing his Abitur in 1834, he completed his legal examination in 1840 and worked at the Øresund customs office in 1841-58. In 1861 he went to the Faroe Islands, where he served as governor until 1871, and in this capacity he was also chairman of Løgting. In 1864-66 he was also a member of the Danish Landsting. In 1871-1894 he was the official of Bornholm. Edit source text
