Oscar Baeza Herrera
Oscar Samuel Baeza Herrera; (Molina, March 1, 1903 - Santiago, January 28, 1985). Businessman in costume and Chilean communist politician. Son of Samuel Baeza and Sofía Herrera Herrera. He married in Santiago, on May 14, 1927, with Francisca Mercedes Carvacho Herrera.
He studied at Molina Elementary School and the Commercial Institute of Santiago. He was a private employee of Felipe del Campo Castellano (1925-1926). He then devoted himself to the clothing industry, owning a clothing and mining clothing company.
Militated in the Socialist Party (1933-1939), being one of its founders. He then passed to the Communist Party (1939-1985), which for legal reasons was called the National Progressive Party in the 1940s.
Elected Deputy, representing the 2nd. Metropolitan District: Talagante (1937-1941). It integrated the permanent committee of Interior Government.
Re-elected by the same departmental grouping (1941-1945), member of the Committee on Economy and Trade.
Again Deputy by Talagante (1945-1949), this time he joined the National Defense Commission.
Partner of the Small Industrial Association. Counselor of the Caja de Crédito Popular and the Caja de Empleados Públicos y Periodistas. Bibliography
