Homografía
The homography between words is the circumstance by which two words of different meaning coincide in their writing, that is, they have an orthographic identity. It comes from the Greek homós, equal - graphé, writing. It is a particular case of homonymy.
In the strict sense, the words whose orthographic coincidence is accompanied by a different pronunciation are homograms. Thus, in English, read (pronounced [ɹiːd]) means to read, whereas the past of this verb, I read, is spelled the same read but pronounced differently (read [ɹed]). The same thing happens with the words tear 'break, tear' (pronounced [tɛə]) and tear 'tear' (pronounced [tɪə]).
In Spanish, however, homo- phrases are all homophones. However, as has been seen in the cases of English cited above this is not the case in all languages.
