Caipiroska

Caipiroska.

Caipiroska is the name of a cocktail prepared with vodka, lime juice and sugar. In some areas of the province of Alava (Spain) this cocktail is known as "croska".

Its name derives from the traditional caipirinha, from which it is only differentiated by the substitution of cachaza by vodka. It is served with crushed ice, and is drunk with straw.

A variety of Caipiroska is the Strawberry Caipiroska. Preparation

Place the lemon slices in a glass. Crush. Add sugar. Grind and mix with a wooden mortar. Add the vodka and remove. Then the glass is filled with ice to the rim. Add more vodka until filling the glass and stir again. Serve with a toothpick to remove and a straw.
