As Lulu travels, Kirk works in the care of dogs, but then has trouble identifying what is called one of them; Lane gets an apartment he will share with his bandmates, Zach and Brian, however, he must face his mother to get things out of his house, and also support his very talkative cousin. Lorelai and Rory agree that they will have a relationship beyond the phone or by e-mail, so they decide to go on a shopping day.
