Robert Mermoud
Robert Mermoud (born 13 October 1912 in Eclagnens, Switzerland, February 2, 2005) was a Swiss musician and composer, as well as honorary citizens of Eclagnens.
He is the son of a landed host and was first a teacher. In addition to his profession, he studied in theory, singing, conducting and composition. In 1946 he came to the Basler Konservatorium, in 1947 he received his diploma as a conductor. From 1948 to 1965 he was a teacher at the Collège de Montreux and founder of the Le Petit Chœur Du Collège De Montreux. As a chorus, he collaborated with Ernest Ansermet and Carl Schuricht. With the Choir of the Théâtre du Jorat, he founded over 250 performances.
For the Schweizerische Gesangfest in Zurich in 1973 he edited the Tessiner Lied Quel Mazzolin Di Fiori for men's choir.
