The landscape protection area Dahlbachtal is a 26.09 hectare landscape protection area (LSG) between Oesdorf and Westheim in the urban area of Marsberg. The area was designated in 2008 with the landscape plan Marsberg by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis. Most of the LSG is located east and southwest of the village. The LSG goes west and south to the Dorfrand. The nature reserve Halbtrockenrasen at the Dahlberg borders the east. In the north directly connects the landscape protection area before the harrow.

The landscape protection area Dahlbachtal was identified as one of 30 landscape planning areas of type C, meadow valleys and ornithologically important open land. In the landscape area Marsberg, there are also three landscape protection areas of the LSG Type A, General Landscape Protection, where the construction of buildings is forbidden. Furthermore, 17 landscape protection areas of the LSG Type B, local outskirts and landscape features, where additional reforestation and also the creation of Christmas tree cultures, jewelery and tree nursery cultures are prohibited. As in the other 29 landscape protection areas of the type C in the Marsberg landscape area, the LSG landscape protection area Dahlbachtal additionally contains a prohibition of conversion of grassland and grassland brooks into fields or other forms of use. A maximum of two years of agricultural use within 12 years is allowed, if the renewal of the grass is prepared. This is considered an extended nursing break.
