Joan Brownlow Hanham, Baroness Hanham CBE (* September 23, 1939) is a member of the House of Lords for the Conservative Party. Since 2010, she has been Parliamentary Undersecretary of the Department for Communities and Local Government. From 1989, she was Council President of the Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council. Her successor in this office was Merrick Cockell in April 2000.
In 1999, she became a Life Peer as Baroness Hanham. In the same year, she was also a candidate for the Mayor of London, but lost to Steve Norris, who then lost to the mayor against Ken Livingstone.
Hanham is chairman of St. Mary's Hospital NHS Trust and the Westminster Primary Care Trust. She was named Freeman of the City of London in 1984 and the CBE was awarded to her in 1997. Single-level Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext
