Al-Infitār (arabic الانفطار al-Infiār, The Splitting) is the 82nd Surah of the Koran, it contains 19 verses. The sura belongs to the first Meccan period (610-615), its title refers to the first verse. Together with Sura 81 and Sura 99, it is one of the so-called apocalyptic suras. It depicts the signs of the resurrection of the dead and warns people before the judgment of God. The pious will be a life of bliss, and the sinners will be promised the torment of hell.
