Christine Kurzhals
Christine Kurzhals (* 31 May 1950 in Böhlen as Christine Mierl, 4 May 1998 in Leipzig) was a German politician (SPD). She was a member of the German Bundestag from 1994 until her death.

Kurzhals was a trained mechanical engineer, before completing her studies at a technical college as an engineer for chemical plant engineering. After working as a surveyor, she worked as a chemical engineer and surveyor for surveying. She also taught as a lecturer in surveying technology. In 1990 she became a judge at the District Court in Borna. Edit policytext
Kurzhals did not belong to any party until 1989 and was afterwards one of the co-founders of the SPD-Ortsverein in Borna. She temporarily took over the presidency of the association and was also a member of the board of directors of the sub-district, as well as being a councilor. She was elected to the German Bundestag at the 1994 Bundestag election, which she belonged to her death. She was a full member of the Committee on Post and Telecommunications and the Committee on Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Jens Heinzig became a member of the Bundestag as an adversary.
