The year 80 (LXXIX) was a leap year starting on Saturday of the Julian calendar, in force on that date.

In the Roman Empire the year was named as "the consulate of Augustus and Domitian" or, less commonly, as the 833 Ab urbe condita, its name being later 80, of the Middle Ages.
