Gladsheim

In Norse mythology, Gladsheim (Old Norse Glaðsheimr) is the place of the Asgard where was located the palace of Odín, Valhalla, as it is mentioned in the poem Grímnismál of the poetic Edda in a list of dwellings of the gods which realizes Grímnir.

Snorri Sturluson points out in Gylfaginning that Gladsheim was the meeting room where the Æsir held a council. It was located in the plains of Ida or Iðavöllr in the Asgard, near the palace of Vingólf, place of meeting of the gods.

XIV. ... It was the first work that made that council, where there were twelve seats, and a throne for Odin himself. That house is the best and largest that anyone on earth, inside and out is all like a piece of gold; the men call it Gladsheim ... Snorri Sturluson. Gylfaginning, Edda prosaica
