Eduard of Bohemia-Ermolli
Baron Eduard von Böhm-Ermolli (1856-1941) Field Marshal of Austria-Hungary. Eduard Freiherr (Baron) von Böhm-Ermolli (February 12, 1856 - December 9, 1941) was an Austrian officer of Italian origin who participated in World War I and reached the rank of Field Marshal in the Army Austro-Hungarian.
At the outbreak of World War I, he was given command of the Austrian Second Army and passed the Serbian front. He then moved to Russia with his troops to reinforce the Austrian army. He was awarded the Military Merit Medal.
Böhm-Ermolli was promoted to colonel general in May 1916 and later to feldmarschall in 1918. In March 1918, his detachment occupied Ukraine and was then dissolved in Odessa at the end of the war.
He settled in Czechoslovakia after the contest, receiving a pension and honors as a first-grade general in the reserve. In 1928 he became a general of that country's army.
When Germany annexed the Sudetenland region, Böhm-Ermolli was promoted to generalfeldmarschall by the Wehrmacht. He was buried in Vienna.
