Damião António de Lemos Faria e Castro (Portimão, 1715 - Faro, 1789) was a Portuguese historian, who published works in Portuguese and Spanish on oratory, poetry and ecclesiastical and secular history. He enjoyed a prominent social and economic position, as well as a careful education with the Jesuits. He was a professed knight of the Order of Christ and family member of the Holy Office. Some manuscripts of his are conserved on diverse subjects, including history of the Algarve. Published works
