Xuanzhong-Tempel
The Xuanzhong Temple (Chinese 玄 中 寺, Pinyin Xuánzhōng Sì, English Xuanzhong Temple) is a Buddhist temple in the north-west of Jiaocheng in the Chinese province of Shanxi. It is located in Shibi Shan 石壁 Gebirge, about 70 kilometers from Taiyuan, and is also known as Shibi Temple and Yongn Temple. Construction began in 472 during the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534). It is the origin of the Chinese School of the Pure Land (and thus the later Japanese Amitabha Buddhism), which belonged to Master Tanluan 昙鸾, Daochuo 道绰 and Shandao 善 . The temple is one of the National Center of Buddhism in Han Chinese Areas. Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext
