The midfielder Werner Ruchel has been playing for Arminia Bielefeld since the early 1960s. The Bielefelder went into the 2nd division West and a year later on the last matchday by a 4: 1 victory against the Dortmund SC 95 the qualification for the newly created Regionalliga West. Ruchel contributed two goals to the win against Dortmund. In the regional league, Werner Ruchel played for the Bielefelder for five years and left the club in the summer of 1968 with an unknown goal.
