The Tree

The Arbolillo is an archaeological site that is in the territory of the present municipality of Tlalnepantla de Baz. It is the remains of an old agricultural village that developed during the Preclassic Period on the western shore of Lake Texcoco. According to the available data, the oldest occupation of this site could be dated in the year 900 a. C. The objects rescued from El Arbolillo speak of a society with strong ties of exchange with other villages in the area, such as Zacatenco and Copilco. It was investigated, among others, by Christine Niederberger and George Clapp Vaillant.
