Mark Gómez Martínez

Marcos Gómez Martínez (Artá, June 30, 1965) is a Spanish diplomat, since August 2011, the Spanish ambassador to the Special Mission for Polar Spaces and Ocean Affairs.

Bachelor of Law, joined the Diplomatic Career in 1990. He has been assigned to Spanish diplomatic representations in Russia, Argentina and to the United Nations and International Organizations based in Geneva. He was an adviser in the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and advisory director in the Cabinet of Presidency of the Government. From 2007 until April 2011 he was ambassador of Spain to New Zealand, where he was replaced by Jesús Miguel Sanz Escorihuela. Since the end of 2012 and until now, he holds the position of Deputy Consul at the Consulate General of Spain in London.
