Vaspurakan

The Kingdom of Vaspurakan (908-1021).

Vaspurakan was one of the aristocratic territories of Armenia that later became a kingdom when governed by the family Artzruni (Ardzruni).

The Artzruni created a principality which culminated in 908 when it came from Lake Van to Lake Urmia (Kaputan) and north to Arajes and recognized the sovereignty of the king of Ani. He received the royal title in 908. In 1021 he will be annexed to Byzantium.
