Juan Roberto Mezzadra
Juan Roberto Mezzadra (Buenos Aires, July 14, 1912-1998) was an Argentine cartoonist, painter and journalist. Biography
A great professional painter, with a vast task (75 years painting), began at age 11 in the newspaper La República and in his last days continued drawing for Croniquita, the children's supplement of the daily Chronicle. His personal passion was boxing, and for many years he was a board member of the Boxer's House.
He had an important trajectory in the evening News Graphs since 1931, which he printed his own style of illustration. He worked in Last Hour, Clarín, Chronicle, Today and Tomorrow, Viva Hundred Years, Rico Tipo, Canal TV, Patoruzito. He also directed some publications such as Political Carton, Centauro (polo magazine, duck and horse riding) and Nuevo Rumbo (medical magazine). His works are now seen in art auctions.
The more than half a hundred illustrations he made for the book Philosophy lunfarda (homage to José Barcia), about the selection of texts by Tino Rodríguez, were exhibited at the General San Martin Cultural Center in 1989. >
