Humboldt Rescue Organization
The Humboldt Rescue Organization (ORH) was founded in Venezuela on December 17, 1969. It was established as a non-profit, non-governmental organization called the Humboldt Hiker Center. Since 1970 its members are trained in civil protection being an emergency care team. In 1975 the Venezuelan government recognized them as a special brigade of search and rescue. The headquarters of the organization is located in the Museum of Transportation.
