In 1907, the company dropped the Gottfried Wilhelm shaft, which was put into operation in 1909. In 1908 she purchased the colliery of Prince Friedrich and the coal mine Gilles Antoine. When Carl Funke died in 1912, Ernst Tengelmann took over the management. In 1916 the trade union Dorstfeld was acquired in Dortmund, in 1920 the trade union Oespel. In the meantime one was part of the GBAG and reorganized as a new subsidiary in 1933 under the name Essener Steinkohlenbergwerke AG. Friedrich Flick joined the Group in 1936.

After the Second World War, Essener Steinkohlenbergwerke AG was removed from the Flick Group. In 1955 Mannesmann AG took over Essener Steinkohlenbergwerke AG. The administrative building at Rüttenscheider Straße 1/3 in Essen was planned and built between 1956 and 1960, while Egon Eiermann was the architect. Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext
