Vasoconstricción
In physiology, vasoconstriction is called narrowing of the blood vessels, that is to say the decrease of its diameter, is the opposite phenomenon to the vasodilatación that consists in the increase of the diameter of a blood vessel. Vasoconstriction increases resistance to blood flow (vascular resistance) and therefore decreases blood flow in the affected vessel. The organism automatically causes vasoconstriction by increasing the activity of the sympathetic nervous system, which promotes the contraction of the smooth muscle located in the wall of the blood vessel and causes its narrowing. Vasoconstriction also occurs with the use of certain drugs called vasoconstrictors, for example adrenaline. Vasoconstrictores endógenos Otros vasoconstrictores
