An emergency signal is an emergency call in the form of non-verbal communication, in order to call for help in an emergency situation (acoustic signal) or visually (eg light signals). Which signal is used in which situation is also dependent on the possibilities and the environment. The best known is the SOS character because the sequence of letters has been used as an emergency signal, although it was originally a code.
