Tunisia, 1942. Nour and Myriam have been friends forever. They live in the same building in a modest neighborhood where Jews and Muslims live in perfect harmony. Each one envies the life of the other. Nour feels unable to go to school as her friend, but Myriam dreams of love. In November 1942, the German army enters Tunisia. Consistent with the Vichy policy, the Nazis force Jews to pay exorbitant taxes. They forbid to work Tita, the mother of Myriam.
