Anne Marie Moss
Annemarie Moss (born February 6, 1935 in Toronto, New York) was a Canadian jazz singer and music teacher.
Annemarie Moss has been largely self-taught (portrayed by Portia White in breathing exercises in 1955), has already appeared as a child and began as a jazz singer in the early 1950s in the groups of Joey Masters and Calvin Jackson, who worked in Toronto. She also sang in dance bands and appeared in various entertainment broadcasts from the CBC, occasionally with the bands of Norman Symonds and Ron Collier. From 1956 to 1958, she went on a tour with Don Thompson in Canada and the United States.
In 1959 she was a bandminder in the Maynard Ferguson Big Band; in the USA, she also worked with the Count Basie Orchestra, replacing Annie Ross for a short time in Vokaltrio Lambert, Hendricks & Horse. In 1961 she married the singer Jackie Paris. The two appeared together in night clubs until 1980 and played the album Live at the Maisonette with Steve Gadd in 1975; In 1980, her solo album "Do not You Know Me?" (Stash) with jazz standards like My Romance, I'm Old Fashioned or How Long Has This Been Going On. In the 1980s she appeared in Toronto after her separation from Jackie Paris 1981; otherwise she taught singing, from 1987 at the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
