War of the Wehrmacht commander in the Netherlands
Friedrich Christiansen (2. v. R.) Is the founder of the honorary plaque
The war memorial plaque in the Netherlands was an unsuccessful award from the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War, sponsored by General of the Airmen and Military Commander of the Netherlands, Friedrich Christiansen, for outstanding achievements.
The 173 mm high and 130 mm wide polished plate of honor consists of white metal and shows in its upper third the sovereign eagle of the Luftwaffe, which holds in its catches a Hakenkreuz. Followed by the two-line inscription FOR SUPERVISORY / SERVICES, followed by a blank line which presumably served the engraving of the wearer, and the further three-line inscription of THE WEIGHTS 'DEFENDERS / FRENCH Christiansen, the latter in facsimile. The plate is surrounded by a narrow strip, which is circulating 4 mm from the edge of the plaque. Single-level Edit source text
