Müller worked in parental agriculture, which he took over after he had participated in the First World War until 1917.
Müller joined the SPD in 1927. From 1930 to 1933 he was a mayor of the office Flammersfeld from March to April 1945. From 1941 he was a member of the NSDAP.
Towards the end of the Second World War, Müller was appointed Mayor of the Flammersfeld Office from March to April 1945 by the Allies. He rejoined the Social Democrats and was a member of the regional assembly and from 1949 onwards the district committee in the district of Altenkirchen. In 1951, he was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag by a SPD's list, to which he belonged until 1955.
