Location of Ankaratra range

Ankaratra is an inactive volcano located about 50 kilometers southwest of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. It lies between the populations of Arivonimamo to the north, Ambatolampy to the east, Faratsiho to the west and Betafo to the south. Some traces of activity persist in the southern part of its location, originating hot springs around Antsirabe.

The highest peak in Ankaratra is the Tsiafajavona, at 2,642 meters above sea level.
