Public works are called all construction works, whether infrastructures or building, promoted by a public administration (as opposed to private work) aiming the benefit of the community.

There are two types of procurement for public works: Direct procurement or Public tender (price competition). In this last one, different companies can present themselves to the competition having to realize a project proposal and an economic proposal. The project that best suits the needs of the principal will be the winner and the company that presented it, will be in charge of executing the work.
