Nils Gabriel Sefström

Nils Gabriel Sefström (born June 2, 1787 in Stockholm, Sweden) was a Swedish chemist and mineralogist who discovered the element vanadium at Taberg in 1831, after having been described by Andrés Manuel del Río was found in a Mexican town of Bleierz.
Sefström was a student of Jöns Jakob Berzelius. From 1820 to 1839 he taught at the mountain school Falun. He then worked as the head of the laboratory of the Royal College in Stockholm. In 1841 he became a corresponding member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences.
