Juana Cortés Ramírez de Arellano
Juana Cortés Ramírez de Arellano (deceased in 1602), V marquesa of the Valley of Oaxaca. When he died before his predecessor, his brother Pedro, did not get to exercise the title, inheriting it and directly exerting it his daughter Estefanía Carrillo de Mendoza and Cortes, VI marquess of the Valley. Biography Juana Cortes was also granddaughter of Hernán Cortés, Governor and Captain General of New Spain, who received from the monarch Carlos I of Spain the marquesado of the Valley of Oaxaca in 1529 by the conquest of these lands in the present Mexico.
She was married to Pedro Carrillo de Mendoza, Count of Priego.
