Fernando Álvarez de Toledo and Figueroa

Fernando Álvarez de Toledo and Figueroa was a member of the nobility of Spain, III Count of Oropesa and Lord of Jarandilla and Cabañas.
He was the son of Francisco Álvarez de Toledo y Pacheco, II Count of Oropesa and María de Figueroa and Toledo, firstborn of Gómez Suárez de Figueroa, II Count of Feria and María Álvarez de Toledo, daughter of the I Dukes of Alba of Tormes. Fernando, in his Castle of Oropesa, from November 11, 1556 until February 3, 1557, hosted the former Emperor Charles I of Spain, after his abdication, who waited on the property of the Count of Oropesa completion of the construction of the palace house that he had built next to the Monastery of Yuste, where he died in 1558. In gratitude the emperor presented the duke with a bust with his profile.
He married Beatriz de Monroy and Ayala, II Countess of Deleitosa, daughter of Francisco de Monroy, I Count of Delitosa and his wife Sancha de Ayala, Señora de Cebolla.
He was succeeded by his son Juan Álvarez de Toledo and Monroy, IV count of Oropesa.
