Antar Zouabri alias "Abou Talha Antar" or "Abou Talha" (1970-2002), was an emir of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA), an Algerian terrorist organization founded in 1992 (1996/2002).
Antar Zouabri was born on 10 May 1970 in Bufarik (25 kilometers south of Algiers), in the heart of the famous Mitidja. Ali Zouabri, his brother, fell in another confrontation with the security forces in 1993 after a bloody halo was also wrought from the height of the Islamic movement in 1989, when he was blamed for the first acid attack suffered by one a girl from the University of Ouled-Aich, who was left with a disfigured face. Sohar Zouabri, sister of both, is currently in prison accused of links with armed groups. Algiers had set a reward of 4.5 million dinars (€ 67,000) for the capture of Zouabri.
On February 8, 2002, after little more than 5 years at the head of the most extreme faction of the Algerian Islamic guerrilla, Antar Zouabri, Emir of the GIA, concluded his truculent and sad trip in Bufarik, where he is shot down by the army Algerian. Bibliography
