Amigos del Bable
Amigos del Bable was an Asturian association born in 1969 in Sama de Langreo. It was sponsored by José León Delestal, Pedro Mario Herrero and Manuel Pilares. It was Leon Delestal in his first conference of presentation in society of the association titled In defense of the Bable, where it was announced the intention to launch in a short term a permanent campaign in favor of the speech of the astures through a revitalization of his lyrical poetry and humorous.
In September of that year, on the occasion of the National Book Fair, in Oviedo, they plan the realization of the Day of the Bable, where a lecture on the language is given. Little by little, during the following years, they will be giving similar lectures by different locacalities, among which the one held in the Hall of Mirrors of the Asturian Center of Madrid with the title Three centuries of Poetry Bable.
Later, the writer and journalist Llorienzu Novo Mier joins the association, and the editing and recording of the Andalusian and Asturies disc of Diego Terrero and Teodoro Cuesta in 1970, being the first of other record releases later. In total, 13 non-venial discs, also from tune, were released until 1971.
In 1975 the association called the Andrade of poetry Bable, addressed to the new poets in that language, and the prize went to the author Florina Alias. At the same time, the Week of Bable poetry was celebrated in various localities of Asturias, with talks and conferences of different personalities close to the vernacular language of Asturias. Later, in the II Andecha and III Andecha the prizes are the author of monologues José Campo Castañón (1976) and the duo Cany González and Ángel Meana (1977) interpreters of musical version of the poetry of Constantino Cabal Ye pequeñina and galana , since during the "III Andecha of the poetry in bable the author was honored, making musical versions of his book L'Alborá de los Malvises.
Since 1975, the association has instituted the Xana del Bable grant to recognize and reward the work of writers, philologists, researchers, entities, etc., related to Asturias, its language, customs, traditions and folklore, giving themselves to them on the occasion of Xustes poétiques del Bable, which include the Andeches, among other personalities to Emilio Alarcos Llorach, Institute of Asturian Studies, Asturian Great Encyclopedia, Lorenzo Novo Mier, Jesus Neira, Radio Oviedo, Antonio García Oliveros, Alfonso Camín ...
Among his projects was the creation of a quarterly periodical written entirely in Asturian. Nevertheless, due to the irruption of the Surdimientu and the autonomy of Asturias, the association disappeared little by little, replacing some of its activities by the Language Academy and the Government of the Principality of Asturias.
