Renate Wagner-Redding

Renate Wagner-Redding (born 1946 in Hanover) is the chairman of the Jewish Community in Braunschweig.

Wagner-Redding was born in Hanover and has been living in Braunschweig since 1955. In 1993, she was elected chairman of the Jewish Community in Braunschweig. Since 2000, she has also been a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Jewish Communities of Lower Saxony.

During her term, the new building of the Braunschweig Synagogue was inaugurated in 2006 and she designed numerous interreligious dialogue events. Edit the source text

For her long-term commitment to the Jewish Community in Braunschweig and the Christian-Jewish understanding, she was awarded the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in December 2012.
