Lightning (conector)

The Lightning connector is a data transfer and power cable created by Apple for the use of products from this company such as iPods, iPhones and iPads. This connector replaced the 30-pin connector for Apple products, being now 8-pin instead of 30. The Lightning connector is 80% smaller than the previous connector and is identical on both sides, so you do not have problems when connecting it. It is entirely digital, much more durable and more comfortable to use. However this connector is incompatible with older Apple devices that use the 30-pin connector, unless you use the Apple-designed Lightning 30-pin adapter. It was announced at Apple's annual event on September 12, 2012 along with the iPhone 5 and is currently used by the following devices: iPhone 5, iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus iPod touch (6th generation), iPod nano (7th generation), iPad (4th generation), iPad Air, iPhone 7, , iPad Air 2, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro.
