José de Marimón and Corvera
José de Marimón and Corvera-Santcliment (1662 - 7 of December of 1747), II Marquess of Serdanyola, was a Spanish nobleman and military of the Catalan principality. Biography
Son of the first Marquis of Serdanola, Felix de Marimon and Tord, victorious general of Philip V in the War of Spanish Succession, who was regent of the Treasury of Catalonia and minister in the councils of Aragon and Italy, as well as viceroy of Mallorca, and of Jerome of Corvera-Santcliment and Pons. José de Marimón succeeded his father in the marquisate in 1721. He participated in the Cortes of Catalonia in 1701, next to his father, qualified by the military arm, and was superintendent of the Royal Atarazanas and military governor of the city of Barcelona. He was appointed as an extraordinary adviser in the coat and sword of the Council of Aragon, so that he could replace his father if necessary and maintain the presence of the Principality of Catalonia in the council. Married since 1686, he had a son, Juan Antonio de Marimón and González de Velasco, who would be the third Marquis of Serdanola.
