Goryatos
Guerrerro escita with a gorytos.
A gorytos (in Greek: γωρυτός, Latin: gorytus), designated in the antiquity the quiver of a short recurve bow, or Scythian bow. Usually, the gorytos would allow to store the full quiver, with bow and arrows. Many gorytos were very decorated. Some have been found in Macedonian tombs, as in the so-called "Tomb of Philip" in Vergina in the second half of the fourth century BC. C. They were also used by the Persians. The Indogriegos adopted the recurved bow and the gorytos as part of their team of horse fight approximately in year 100 a. C., as you can see in their coins.
