The International Softball Federation (ISF) is the world governing body of softball, recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the General Association of International Sports Federations.
It was created in 1887 by george hancock ISF organizes and directs competitions of World Championships of Masculine and Feminine Softball in Fast Launch, Modified Launch, Slow Launch, in the categories Amateur and Junior. The ISF sanctions Regional Championships, in addition to providing technical support to Regional (multi-sport) Games. In addition, the ISF qualifies teams for the Olympic softball competition in coordination with the IOC, provides the official rules of the game for international competition, including but not limited to Olympic Games, World Championships, Regional Championships and other sanctioned competitions.
The ISF affiliates National Associations / Federations as members and conducts a biennial Congress for its affiliates. The ISF is a non-profit corporation incorporated in the United States of America and has its headquarters in Plant City, Florida, United States.
