Henrique Lopes de Mendonça (pronounced Mendonssa) (born 12 February 1856 in Lisbon, died August 24, 1931) was a Portuguese poet, playwright and naval officer. He is known for writing the text for the later Portuguese national anthem A Portuguesa composed by his friend Alfredo Keil.
