Gomi Kōsuke
Gomi Kōsuke (Gomi Yasusuke, 20 December 1921 in Osaka, † April 1, 1980) was a Japanese writer.
Gomi studied literature at Meiji University. During his army days in the Second World War he met the writer Yasuda Yojūrō, who encouraged him to write historical novels.
After the war, he emerged as the author of popular swordsman novels (kengō shōsetsu). He received the Akutagawa Prize in 1952 for Sōshin. Other successful novels were Yagyū Ren'yasai (1955) and Futari no Musashi (1956-57). Together with Shibata Renzaburō he wrote Kyōshirō burai hikae (1956) and Akai kageboshi (1960).
