José María Alonso de Beraza
José María Alonso de Beraza (Santander, 1831 - Madrid, December 18, 1901) was a journalist and Spanish politician. In 1867 he was a delegate of the Spanish Abolitionist Society at the International Abolitionist Congress in Paris. He wrote regularly in "El Imparcial" and "El Liberal". In the general elections of August of 1872 was chosen deputy to the Congress by the electoral district of Lucena of the Cid in the lists of the Radical Party. After the Bourbon restoration took place it did not participate more in politics. In 1894 he presided over the first session of the First International Press Conference, held in Antwerp, and in 1895 he was one of the founding partners of the Madrid Press Association.
