Meniketti founded the rock band Y & T in 1973, which was successful until the mid-1980s. He was the lead singer and lead guitarist of the band, which dissolve in 1991 and was re-established in 1995, again with Meniketti. Since the banderfolg continued to fail, he began to focus on his solocarriere. He set up his own recording studio and began recording for his first album, On the Blue Side, which was influenced by the blues. Three years later, his second album, Meniketti, and Livealbum Live appeared in Japan.
In 1986, he was one of the singers on the singles stars of charity project Hear 'n Aid, launched by Ronnie James Dio
In 2010, a studio album by Y & T (Facemelter) and a live double CD accompanied by extensive tours appeared again in 2012.
