Amphibious Vehicle Battalion # 1
The Amphibious Vehicle Battalion No. 1 was created on December 27, 1947 with the name of Battalion of Special Troops No. 1 and its initial means of transport was the Universal Carrier T-16. A few months later it received its first LVTP 3 amphibious vehicles and the North American amphibious Duck truck with the local designations of VU and VUR respectively.
