Emese and the Turul.
Ügyek, Prince of Hungary (? - 854), according to the Hungarian chronicles, Emese's husband and father of Prince Álmos. He ruled the Magyars at the end of the ninth century and led them through Eurasia towards Europe. According to legend, his son Álmos would have been born after Turul, the mythical bird of the pre-Christian Hungarians, had appeared to Emese, mother of the Prince and augured future successes to him and his descendants. After the death of Ügyek, his son Álmos occupied the throne of the Hungarian Principality about 854.
